Privacy policy

Mavolingo, 10 rue des quatorze bouchers, Mont-Saint-Vincent, France, is the data controller for personal information collected through . You can reach us about privacy matters at info@mavolingo.com.

1. What we collect
When you place an order, we collect your name, delivery address, email address, telephone number, and the products you ordered. Payment card details are entered on the checkout page of our payment processor and are not stored on Mavolingo’s systems; we receive only a confirmation that payment has been authorised, together with the last four digits and card brand for reconciliation purposes.

When you browse the site, we collect standard server log data — IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and timestamps — and, where you have consented through the cookie banner, analytics data about how the site is used. If you contact us by email, we keep the content of that correspondence.

2. Why we use it
We use order and contact information to fulfil your order, send delivery updates, handle returns and refunds, and answer your questions. We use transaction records to meet French accounting and tax obligations. Where you have opted in, we use your email address to send occasional product updates; you can withdraw that consent at any time through the unsubscribe link in every email or by writing to us. Browsing and analytics data help us understand which pages are useful and which parts of the checkout cause difficulty.

3. Who we share it with
We share delivery details with the carrier assigned to your parcel (Colissimo, Chronopost, or Colis Privé) so that the parcel can reach you. We share payment information with our payment processors (PayPal and our card acquirer) to authorise and settle transactions. We use an email service provider to send order confirmations and, where consented, marketing messages. These providers act on our instructions and are not permitted to use your information for their own purposes.

We do not sell personal information. We use analytics data in aggregated form to understand site usage; we do not use it to build advertising profiles or to serve cross-context behavioural advertising.

4. How long we keep it
Order records are kept for the period required by French commercial and tax law. Customer service correspondence is kept for as long as needed to resolve the matter and for a reasonable period afterwards in case the issue recurs. Analytics data is retained in identifiable form for no longer than 26 months. If you withdraw marketing consent, we suppress your address from our marketing list and retain only the minimum record needed to honour that suppression.

5. Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to ask us to correct it, to ask us to delete it where we no longer have a lawful basis to keep it, to restrict or object to certain processing, and to receive a copy of data you provided to us in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, email info@mavolingo.com with enough detail for us to identify your records. We respond within one month. If you believe we have handled your data unlawfully, you can complain to the CNIL (Commission Nationale de l’Informatique et des Libertés).

6. California residents
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know the categories of personal information we collect, the sources, the purposes, and the categories of third parties to whom it is disclosed; the right to request deletion; the right to correct inaccurate information; and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. Mavolingo does not sell personal information, and it does not share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. Analytics data is used only in aggregated form to understand site usage. To exercise a California right, email info@mavolingo.com with “California request” in the subject line. You will not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

7. Cookies and consent
Essential cookies are set when you use the cart and checkout; these are necessary for the site to function and do not require consent. Analytics and any non-essential cookies are set only after you accept them through the cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time by clearing the site’s cookies in your browser and reloading the page, which will show the banner again.

8. Security and changes
Checkout is served over HTTPS. Payment card data is handled by our payment processors, not by Mavolingo. We keep access to order data limited to the people who need it to fulfil orders and answer customer service queries. If we change this policy, the “Last updated” date at the top of the page will change, and material changes will be announced on the site before they take effect.
